St. Patrick's Day Hacks (Happy St. Pat's Day!)

Hey everybody! We've all been there. March 17th has arrived and you reach into your closet. But then you realize that your closet is full of red, blue, and black clothes- no green in sight.

It's Alex and I love St. Patrick's day because you get to eat Lucky Charms even if it's not a weekend and listen to some cringy music with fiddles and pinch people! Except, usually people don't like to be pinched. So here are some hacks to not get pinched this St. Patrick's day.

Tip: If someone pinches you even if you have green on, you get to pinch them back- twice!

The Post-it Note

This is my personal favorite. All you have to do is get a green post-it note, write 'don't pinch me' on it and voila! No one can pinch you. If you don't have a post-it note, green construction paper and tape or even a piece of white paper colored green will work. Anything green, really.

The Rubber Band

This one is handy because these are found by the dozen in houses where moms reside. Also, kids like to carry them handy so they can fling them at their siblings if needed. And if you want to get especially fancy, you can make Rainbow Loom bracelets, like Anna did.

The Braces

I did this with my braces a few weeks before St. Patrick's Day. Just pop over to your orthodontist, pick green for your band color (sparkly green is my favorite), and revel in your pinch-proof safety. This was fun because Anna pinched me twice before she realized I was wearing green, so I got to pinch her four times (hehe)! 

The Face Paint/Marker

Grab your face paint kits and a victim subject to paint on! You can do a simple clover design on a cheek or this elaborate design (as shown above) from facepaint.com. 

The Four Leaf Clover Nails

The Festive Hat

You can get a very fancy hat like this from your local dollar store. Or you can look through your attic or even make your own out of construction paper!
