Using loofah patterns can make unique nail art! Different loofah fabrics and colors can make pretty patterns like mermaid scales, snakeskin, or black-and-white glitter, as the pictures show above. The instructions are ranked easiest to hardest. My rating system goes like this:
Easy, Easy-Medium, Medium, Medium-Hard, Hard, Hard-Insane, and Insane.

Classic Loofah Nails

How to make Classic Loofah Nails:

Difficulty: Easy-Medium

You can use any type of loofah pattern for this. Apply a coat of clear nail polish on your nails. Choose two colors (I'll go with green and black.). The color that the lines will be (black) will be your base coat. Apply your base coat. When it dries, stretch some loofah fabric over one nail and tape it onto the sides of your fingers to keep it in place. Paint over the loofah onto your nail with the other color (green). Let it dry before taking off the loofah so the colors don't swirl together. Once they are dry, take the loofah off and coat with clear nail polish for a glossy look. Repeat for your fingers as you like.

Mermaid Loofah Nails

How to make Mermaid Scales:

Difficulty: Medium

For the best results, use a scale pattern like the picture shows. Apply a coat of clear nail polish on your nails. Paint a cerulean blue over your nails. When it dries, stretch some loofah fabric over one nail and tape it onto the sides of your fingers to keep it in place. Use a pale green to paint at the base, and swirl it into a teal color. Swirl the teal into a dark blue until you have a gradient. Let it dry before taking off the loofah so the colors don't swirl together. You can add some fine silver glitter to give it a shimmer finish. Once they are dry, take the loofah off and coat with clear nail polish for a glossy look. Repeat for your fingers as you like.

Snakeskin Loofah Nails

How to make Snakeskin Nails:

Difficulty: Hard

Note: This does not use actual snakeskin, as some tutorials show.
For the best results, use a diamond or hexagonal pattern. Apply a coat of clear nail polish on your nails. Apply a skin color or light tan coat for your base coat. When it dries, stretch the loofah fabric over one nail and tape it onto the sides of your fingers to keep it in place. With a sienna or light brown coat, paint over the loofah. Let it dry, but do not take off the loofah. Now, using a napkin, mix some clear and gold nail polish together so it makes a light gold. Take a sponge and dab it into the paint, and sponge a light coat of this mixture over the brown. Let it dry before taking off the loofah so the colors don't swirl together. If you want, now you can add a few streaks of gold. Once they are dry, take the loofah off and coat with clear nail polish for a glossy look. Repeat for your fingers as you like.

I hope you enjoyed these designs! Come back again for Part 2!
