Lego Ninjago Movie: Worth It? (Warning: Spoiler Alert)
Hello! This is Alexis and I'm going to do my first movie rating on the Lego Ninjago movie, because I'm watching it right now.
The Lego Ninjago movie has that classic funny movie appearance with the animated Lego figurines and the claw hand joke. At the end, when Lloyd's mom comes over (after Lloyd tames the cat), she says, "Lloyd! Are you hurt? Let me see your fingers and your toes! Okay, you still don't have fingers or toes, so you're good."
It also has that mistaken identity parts (Lloyd's mom is Lady Iron Dragon, who makes a new appearance in the Lego themed movies) and the flashbacks are pretty good. The things Master Wu says are the best parts, including the metaphor about the piece/peace.
"You have to find the piece. That is the ultimate weapon."
He actually meant the "inner peace," which stars in most kung fu/ninja kids movies.
It can be pretty touching at parts, but it usually involves Garmadon, and him crying fire kinda ruins it. Why not just red tears? Also, the cat part is a little off topic. It's mentioned as a "monster" in the first part with the real people (Jackie Chan shows off the scars on the back of his hand), and the "Ultimate Weapon" is just a laser pointer that sends the monster/cat knocking down buildings and eating people (ahem, Garmadon). It turns out the fire/tears are a big part in the movie, because when Garmadon cries inside the cat's stomach, the cat barfs him out (which gets some sympathy points for the cat... imagine fire in your stomach).
The end is a little unsatisfying. After Garmadon gets barfed out, the cat magically disappeared and the buildings were all restored to normal, all in time to celebrate Lloyd's birthday at the sushi place Garmadon mentioned earlier.
Is it just me, or is everyone craving sushi after this movie?
I hope you liked this rating and this picture of Garmadon in volcano pajamas.
See you later!
