Mistake Monday | March 26, 2018

Hi! Alexis.

I'm here to tell you all about one of the most delicious mistakes in recent history... the chocolate chip cookie!

One evening, Ruth and Kenneth Wakefield, were working at their Toll House Inn, a restaurant and an inn in one, when Ruth decided to make some butter cookies. Her restaurant featured made-there foods, and she figured some chocolate would be more popular. She didn't have any cocoa dust, so she took a big block of sweetened chocolate and she crumbled it into pieces. She assumed it would melt in the oven into the batter, but instead, the chocolate kept it's original shape, although melted a little. Voila! The magical chocolate chip cookie. 🍪🍪🍪 Tasting it, she liked the cookie, and decided to sell them; thinking people needed a unique taste of new cookie. She was surprised how quickly they were a hit! People came from all over just to eat the world famous cookies. Finally, Nestle Toll House made her a bargain. Ruth sold the idea for the cookies to Nestle Toll House in exchange for a lifetime supply of chocolate.
Wow!

I thought that was interesting.

Check out Anna's chocolate chip cookie recipe (from Nestle Toll House)! It's delicious!

See you later!

Alexis
